Swedish artist and designer Tove Adman is renowned for her work made of concrete. Her products are rustic and elegant, often with a large dose of humour.
Tove Adman began her career as a sculptor during the 1990’s where, together with another colleague, she was the driving force behind brand Fafner. Among other things, the classic concrete candleholder became something of a hallmark for Tove Adman at this time. In 2006, Tove Adman launched her own brand, which she now runs from her studio on the island of Gotland, Sweden.
The ultimate vision is to create timeless design objects that resist current trends, usually with both humour and controversy. Tove Adman creates all original products by hand which is a huge challenge as concrete is both brittle and tough.
